The school administrators and central office supervisors are formally
excluded from membership in the teacher’s union (MCEA) by the request
of the union and in compliance with state law. A decision was made by
the administrators as a group to file as a collective bargaining unit (union)
under state law and filed as a 501C (5) union with the IRS. The group held
elections for officers and negotiated its first collective bargaining
agreement (CBA). The name of the organization becomes the
Montgomery County Association of Administrative and Supervisory
Personnel (MCAASP). ESAA and SSAA continue.
